October’s meeting was presented by our own member, Pam Howells, who talked to us about Homeopathic First Aid. Pam is a qualified homeopath and works from her home in Cotmarsh.
Pam strongly believes that, rather than rush to the doctor at the first signs of illness, we should try a homeopathic cure first, as these are generally very successful for treating ailments including headaches, stomach and digestion problems, rashes, fevers, bruising etc.
Pam explained how she decides which remedies to use, matching the symptoms of the illness with a remedy that produces similar symptoms. She has had great success even when treating patients with complex symptoms which they have had for many years. Many can be traced back to traumatic events such as bereavement, accident, redundancy etc.
Thanks to Pam, I think many of us will be looking with renewed interest at what homeopathy has to offer.
Our next meeting is entitled ‘Yoga: a taster session’ with Polly Fouracres, a local resident. It is at 7.30pm on Wednesday 20th November at Broad Town Village Hall. Visitors are welcome. For more information please contact Jane Rowe on 01793 731105 who also has a few tickets to the Barn Dance on Saturday 9th November. See separate notice.
