MINUTES OF A MEETING HELD ON 9th AUGUST 2010

Apologies were received from Cllrs S. Billis and Mrs J. Newman.
Julia Stacey gave a resume of her role as Community Partnership Support, and offered four options on her view of the way ahead. The outcome of this discussion is noted in Parish Matters.
1. The minutes of the meeting held on 12th July 2010 were signed as being a true record.
Finance.
2. Clerk noted payment of an invoice from Wilts Council for £100, annual rental of Redhills.
Letters.
3. Community Asset Transfer. Although it was felt that there was some benefit in the PC owning assets, there was not enough detail in the notes for a reasonable decision to be made. Clerk will pursue this.
4. Donation to St Johns. Not budgeted for. Refused.
5. Invitation to Community First AGM. To be decided later.
Parish Matters.
6. Of the four options offered, Option 4 (see attached notes) was deemed to be the best. The group to be formed would give continuity and personal interaction with regular meetings, without being too onerous. A paid worker would be an essential part of this set-up.
7. An article in the Western Daily Press concerning the worm infestation of sheep by careless dog owners, who fail to keep their dogs wormed, was considered worthy of dissemination. Clerk will put a suitable note in the 'News'.
8. The closure of the Lime Kiln Leisure Centre was discussed. It would appear that the use by local villagers was being ignored in the consultation. Clerk is to remedy this.
9. The thought that the Council should not hold meetings in August and December, (or January) did not receive support.
10. Fireworks. There has been yet another complaint. Clerk is seeking advice from Environmental Health.
11. The installation of a new BT cable to Manor Farm. Letter from Chairman approved.
12. The Village Information Leaflet contained errors. Clerk has negotiated a re-print without cost, and it will be distributed when ready.
