BROAD TOWN CHURCH
There is only one service in August – Evening Worship on 14th August at 6pm.
AUGUST REFLECTIONS 2022 Revd. Karen Rizzello
Dear Reader, As we enter August we are seeing the final signs of summer and the fields are full of harvesters as farmers face long days of hard work bringing in all that God has provided. The hot spells have been a bit of a struggle for some but as we continue to enjoy the summer and the school holidays, we give thanks for all that God gives us in our villages of Bradenstoke, Broad Town, Clyffe Pypard, Lyneham, Hilmarton and Tockenham. Many of us may be worried about rising costs and paying bills. So as people of community and faith we need to take care of our neighbours. This may be donating to the food banks which are seeing reduced donations or providing simple friendship and support to those in need around us. The church seems especially busy at the moment with record numbers of christenings and other services marking life’s journeys. Please pray for all those who are dealing with difficult moments in their lives and for those who are celebrating new arrivals and weddings at this time. During August I hope you enjoy a time of rest and perhaps a holiday away or at home. Please stay safe and take care of your mental and physical health. You are always welcome to come into our cool churches and spend time nourishing your spiritual self too. God Bless,
Revd. Karen Associate Priest Benefice of Lyneham and Woodhill

The hard work continued throughout July and thanks again to all those involved. We have received many favourable comments from villagers and visitors. The next planned work morning will be on 6th August from 9.30 - 12.00
PROSPECT HOSPICE
A total of £275.09 was raised from the household box collection and we have been asked to thank all those who continue to support the Hospice in this way.

THOMAS SPACKMAN EDUCATIONAL TRUST GRANT
Are you, or do you know, a young person living in the Clyffe Pypard or Broad Town area who would benefit from a grant from The Thomas Spackman Educational Trust? The Charity’s main focus is education or work-related training and apprenticeships but The Charity may also be able to help a promising individual develop a particular talent; perhaps help fund tuition in a musical instrument or develop a sporting skill. Applying is very easy. If you wish to find out more about the application process, please email spackmancharity@gmail.com or contact Karen Hawkins 07788 210960. All formal applications need to be in by 30th September 2022. The next opportunity to apply will be March 2023.
